Superman is really a fictional American superhero. There have been also other comics published depending on Superman. Such as "Superboy", "Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane", and "Superman Family". In 2003, "Superman/Batman" was published, and later on on "Justice League Adventures" featuring different superheroes, including Superman, started.

In 1986, brand new series solely depending on Superman were created, for example "Crisis on Infinite Earths" and "The Man of Steel". That same year, "World's Famous Comics" was cancelled, and "Superman" was renamed "Adventures of Superman". In 1991, "Superman: The Man of Steel" ran until its cancellation in 2003. Several onscreen adaptations are already made about Superman. From 1952-1958, George Reeves played the superhero inside a TV series titled "Adventures of Superman". Inside the late 1960s, an animated series is made. From 1993-1997, Dean Cain played Superman inside the series "Lois & Clark: The modern Adventures of Superman". From 2001-2011, Tom Welling starred like a teenage Clark Kent in "Smallville".

Superman also achieved cinema success. Christopher Reeve starred in "Superman" in 1978. The show was successful and several sequels were made, for example "Superman II", "Superman III", and "Superman IV: Scouting around for Peace". In 2006, Brandon Routh literally superhero in the blockbuster "Superman Returns". Every Hollywood depiction in the hero includes the famous Superman costume.

Superman's Affect on Superheroes

Superman's popularity helped widen the American superhero genre. DC comics is here by helping cover their new superheroes, including Batman, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman. Nearly everyone is just like Superman for the reason that they've got a trademark superhero costume, come with an arch nemesis, and should keep his/her identity a secret.
